The clinic has the latest technology, and it really shows. I had SMILE PRO here, and it was painless and quick. The staff were caring, and the recovery was simple. My vision is now perfect, and I couldnβt be happier.

All the staff in Onnuri Smile Eye Clinic was very nice, gentle and accommodating. They do a very thorough evaluation on your eyes, to make sure you will get the right treatment/surgery. I did smile lasik surgery and the process was truly painless. I used to have a vision of -5.0 and -6.25, now recovered to 1.2 for both eyes. Overall very satisfied with the visit.

It was my first time visiting Korea and I was recommended this eye clinic for refractive laser eye surgery due to the practical location near Gangnam station and competitive pricing. I did hours of research on their website and was impressed with what I read regarding their vast clinical experience and philosophy, and this is what led me to choose this clinic over several other clinics I looked into - I just had to shoot them a few emails to confirm some details and make the appointment first. My biggest hesitation was risk of long-term side effects, as well as the fact that I speak NO Korean. Unfortunately, this clinic has no English translators (other eye clinics may have English translators) and from what I can tell is mostly frequented by locals/Koreans. Some of the staff speaks a little English, but you likely have to use Papago, or go with a Korean-speaking friend if you arenβt fluent in Korean. Thankfully, I had access to both.
The process is all quick and efficient - my appointment was at 10:30 and I was done by 15:30. It would've been much quicker but I asked many questions and we also took a lunch break before my surgery. In between all this were THOROUGH eye examinations, explanations for the examinations, and the opportunity to ask any questions on your mind. They really make sure that you are a good candidate for the surgery and don't pressure you into saying yes. This gave me peace of mind - however, the language barrier is NOT easy. If you do thorough research ahead of time you won't have many questions. But between the main ophthalmology technician Ji-hye who helped me (she was SO kind and spoke the most English out of all the techs there) and Dr. Kim Bu-ki (who speaks English), I was able to make the decision to get the SMILE eye surgery.
The actual surgery was very quick and not painful, but you can feel the doctor operating on your eye and it can make you a little anxious. My vision was blurry for most of the afternoon but by the next day it was mostly clear - the blurriness was gone after a day or two. Unfortunately I had to have an additional follow-up due to needing eye irrigation/debridement in my left eye - that was actually more irritating than the surgery itself. But by the third day the pain was gone. My myopia was about -3.25 in each eye with mild astigmatism in my right eye. After surgery it was visual acuity 1.2 in each eye, and 1.5 in both (20/13) - I was not expecting to have better than 20/20!! Amazing.
Overall: Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, transparent - everything you would want from a good eye clinic. Great experience from beginning to end. Even as a foreigner, I would recommend this clinic, but if you know a little Korean or have a Korean friend, that will make it easier. I am very happy I went with this clinic and give them all the praises. 10 days after my surgery and I have no complications now. Shoutout again to the wonderful staff, especially Ji-hye and Dr. Kim Bu-ki!
