I recently had SMILE Pro eye surgery at BNG Eye Clinic, and the experience exceeded my expectations. I am very happy to see everything clearly after the surgery. The procedure itself was quick and painless, and my vision improved almost immediately. The clinic was clean, modern, and very well organized. Both the pre- and post-surgery care were excellent, with detailed guidance and attentive support from the medical team.
I highly recommend this clinic to anyone considering vision correction surgery. Thank you to BNG team. A special thank you to the Mongolian interpreter, Tugsjargal, who guided me throughout the entire process. Her assistance made everything much easier and more comfortable.

Had my SMILE laser eye surgery here and couldnβt be happier. The clinic is modern, the doctors are experienced and genuinely caring, and the whole process from exam to same-day surgery was smooth and well organised. Fair price, with a free detailed eye exam included. Highly recommend BGN for anyone considering vision correction in Seoul. Thank you to the whole team!

From Singapore. I did SmilePro with XCL add-on. My prescription is High myopia (-6.5) and moderate astigmatism (-1.25) in both eyes
1. Pre-Surgery & Consultation
The pre-surgery experience was highly professional and reassuring. I underwent a comprehensive, one-hour eye examination and consultation. Interestingly, they discovered that my current glasses were over-corrected (which they double-checked), giving me great confidence in their accuracy. The clinic itself is well-equipped, beautifully furnished, and features a comfortable waiting area for companions, complete with a water station and snacks.
During the medical consultation, the doctors focused primarily on corneal thickness, myopia, astigmatism, and budget.
My Advice on Smile vs. SmilePro:
SmilePro was specifically designed to correct astigmatism with higher accuracy. If your astigmatism is moderate or higher, I highly recommend it. However, if your myopia is below -5.0 with mild astigmatism, regular Smile is more than sufficient. Because the profit margin for SmilePro is higher, be aware of upselling. A friend of mine was pushed to upgrade to Pro simply because they knew she could afford it. My stance? Only pay for the "extra certainty" of SmilePro if it comfortably fits your budget.
Perks & Inclusions:
They offered a 100,000 KRW discount for same-day surgery, and an additional 100,000 KRW discount for an Instagram video review. Anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and artificial tear drops were all included in the SmilePro package.
2. The Surgery Experience
Because I was wearing sunscreen, I was first escorted to a preparation room fully stocked with makeup remover, facial cleanser, toner, and lotion to clean my face.
The operating room adheres to strict sterile protocols, requiring patients to change into surgical gowns and shoes. After numbing drops were administered, an assistant gently guided me to the operating bay by the hand. To ease anxiety, they provided a soft toy and a weighted blanket, which made me feel incredibly safe. The procedure itself was fantasticβfast (under 10 minutes), entirely painless, and seamlessly coordinated. Afterward, my vision was quite blurry, as if looking through a white mist, which is normal for the first day.
3. Post-Surgery Follow-Ups & Areas for Improvement
This is where the service standards dropped compared to the excellent pre-surgery care.
First Follow-Up (3 Days Post-Op):
I did a basic visual acuity test and a cornea check with the doctor. Because follow-ups require a separate payment, I was disappointed that neither the clinical assistant nor the doctor explained my actual test results. My vision was still slightly blurry, and I left with no concrete idea of how my eyes were actually progressing. Furthermore, upon learning I was leaving Korea in a week, they scheduled a second follow-up without a clear medical justification.
Second Follow-Up:
This visit felt unnecessary. Despite having an appointment, I waited 50 minutes for a consultation that lasted less than 60 seconds. A female doctor simply repeated, "Your eyes are recovering fine, just finish the two eye drops."
This contradicted what the pre-surgery consultant told meβthat only one follow-up within the first week was necessary. To add to the confusion, the doctor then advised me to see an eye doctor back home in Singapore, leaving me wondering what exactly I was supposed to be monitoring. I felt my limited time in Seoul was disrespected. Traveling to the clinic just to receive repetitive answers without any breakdown of my recovery progress or genuine patient reassurance was frustrating.
Final Verdict
I rate my experience 4/5 and would still recommend BGN Eye Clinic.
However, BGN would heavily benefit from improving their post-operative care. Doctors should thoroughly explain test results and recovery milestones rather than focusing solely on the initial sales pitch. I would leave BGN with this line: True medical service doesn't end when the surgery is over; it ends when the patient is fully healed.

Awesome clinic. I underwent a standard LASEK surgery here, and it went so much smoother than what I expected. The stuff spoke English, so I didn't have to worry about bringing a translator, the instructions were very clear, and, surprisingly, the surgery only cost me 990,000 won which is so much cheaper than in other clinics I've visited.
Bottomline, I would recommend this clinic to anyone who is thinking of having a vision correction surgery in Korea, 10/10π
